SeaWind Landing is located in the community of Charlos Cove, on the upper Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia.
Directions: From Halifax
If you are starting from the city of Halifax, you must cross the MacKay bridge ("new" bridge) into the city of Dartmouth, and follow the highway straight through Dartmouth, onto Main Street (watch for signs). If you are starting from Dartmouth, then you must get yourself on Main Street, heading towards Eastern Shore.
Follow Main Street northeast as it becomes Highway 7 (It is OK to take the Highway 107 bipass at exit #16). Just past Porters Lake Highway 7 becomes the Marine Drive. Follow Highway 7 (Marine Drive) as it winds along the Eastern Shore, offering breathtaking views of the rugged Nova Scotia coastline. Just past the community of Sherbrooke the Highway forks and you have a choice of routes, depending on the Country Harbour Ferry.
IMPORTANT: Watch for sign indicating ferry status.
- If the ferry is operating, continue right on Highway 211 towards Country Harbour, where you must cross the harbour on a Cable Ferry.
- If the ferry is NOT operating, then you must continue left on Highway 7, then turn right at the community of Melrose, then right again at Country Harbour Cross Roads. Continue along this road until you reach Isaacs Harbour North, then turn left towards Goldboro.
Continue along Eastern Shore until you reach the community of Charlos Cove. Watch for "SeaWind Landing" sign and turn right onto dirt road that leads short distance to the Inn.
Directions: From Cape Breton Island
If you are starting from somewhere on Cape Breton Island, you must first get yourself across the Canso Causeway and onto Highway 104 (towards Halifax). There are two choices of routes:
- Take exit #40 (Mulgrave) and follow Highway 344 along the coastline to the community of Boylston.
- Take exit #37 and follow Highway 16 south to the community of Boylston.
At Boylston continue south on Route 16 to the community of Guysborough. Just past Guysborough you must exit right onto road towards Lundy and Larrys River (watch for signs). At Larrys River turn left and drive for short distance to the community of Charlos Cove. Watch for "SeaWind Landing" sign and turn right onto dirt road that leads short distance to the Inn. |
